Terms of use
Version of 2026-10-31.3
This site is an AI tutor for your course. By using it you agree to the following.
1. Keep personal information out
Do not enter personally identifiable information, yours or anyone else's, in a chat, an upload, the scratchpad or an assignment. That includes:
- names: your own, a classmate's, or anyone else's;
- student ID numbers and other identification numbers;
- email addresses, phone numbers and home addresses;
- dates of birth;
- grades, and health or disability information.
Describe people in general terms ("a client", "a classmate"), and remove personal details from a document before you upload it.
2. Your username
Use the username you were given. Do not change it to your name, or to anything else that identifies you.
3. How your messages are answered
The tutor's replies are written by Anthropic's Claude models. Each message you send, with the passages of course documents used to answer it, is sent to Anthropic to write the reply.
4. Who can see your work
Your chats, uploads and work in a course can be seen by you and by the course's instructors. The people who run this site can reach the stored data to keep the site working.
5. What is not collected
This site does not record your IP address or your browser's details, and sets no tracking cookies. It uses one cookie, to keep you signed in: it holds only a random reference, and is cleared when you close your browser or after some hours without use.
6. Keeping and removing your data
Your work is kept for your course. Your instructor can delete your data in a course -- your chats, uploads, submitted work, grades and chat memory there -- which also takes you out of that course, and at a term's end they may delete every student's. Your login, and your work in your other courses, stay. If you want something you entered removed, ask your instructor.
7. Using the tutor
Use the tutor for your coursework. Do not try to make it reveal its setup, act outside its role, or reach other people's work.
8. Questions
Ask your instructor about these terms or about your data.
